Our Story
We started with a simple frustration.
Ethiopia grows some of the most extraordinary coffee on earth. Yet by the time it reaches a roastery in Oslo or Melbourne, most of what made it extraordinary has been stripped away — the name of the station, the altitude, the family who picked it. What arrives is a grade and a price.
We built The Coffee Link to put that information back. Every lot we export carries its provenance with it: where it grew, who processed it, how it scored, and who put their name to that score. Not as a marketing claim — as documentation you can hand to a compliance officer.
We are based in Addis Ababa, we know the station managers by name, and we drive the roads to reach them. That is the whole business, and it is harder than it sounds.
The Origins

We source from the regions that define Ethiopian coffee. Each has its own altitude, its own processing tradition, and its own unmistakable signature in the cup.

Four steps, and we are accountable at every one.

We source at origin
We work directly with washing stations and cooperatives across six regions, cupping through the season and buying the lots that earn it.
- 02
We grade and document
Every lot is cupped by a licensed Q grader, scored, and photographed. Certificates, EUDR paperwork, and the full cupping report travel with it.
- 03
We mill and prepare
Dry milling, grading, and bagging under supervision in Addis Ababa, with pre-shipment samples sent before anything moves.

We export and track
Cleared through Djibouti with full documentation, and tracked on your own order page from confirmation to vessel departure.
Traceability
Every bag carries the name of the station that washed it.
Full traceability is not a badge we award ourselves. On each lot page you will find the washing station and its manager, the cooperative, the number of farmers supplying it, the processing timeline, and — where we have them — the GPS coordinates, plotted on a map you can zoom into.
Where a lot is traced only to region through the ECX system, we say so plainly on the page rather than implying more than we know.
